(2007) Mangos

Made with Conté pencils on January of 2007. These mangos were hanged in my room walls during the last years of that decade, along other artworks I was really proud of during that period.

At the time I was practicing and trying to understand how shading worked in different materials, taking references from photographs and real life, drawing all of sorts of objects.... It was truly a time of discovery and wonders, with its fair share of difficult experiences.

An interesting fact about this piece is that it was probably the first time I drew anything on colored paper. The texture of the paper also gave quite a distinct look to it.

Even until this day I still like it the way it is, so I never dared to add more details despite having plenty of room for it, I just wanted to keep it more authentic.
